WOMAN IN THE COMMUNITY
Tosin Matthew-Akinsiku is a registered Nurse and Midwife, a member of the Nigeria Nursing and Midwifery Council and of the Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives . She is the founder of Before and Beyond Birth and The Pregnancy Lounge Limited, organizations with primary responsibilities of educating, empowering and supporting pregnant women and new mothers via various media platform through pregnancy and post partum periods.
She is also the publisher of BABBIES Magazine, a bi-monthly pregnancy and baby’s health publication aimed at birth preparedness with a view to reducing the maternal and child mortality indices in Nigeria and Africa as a whole which is distributed freely across the nation
With over a decade of Nursing and Midwifery practice experience in and outside Nigeria, both within the private and public sector including the Family Health International Project, under the auspices of the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Reddington Hospitals, People Medial Center, and several volunteer projects with various non-governmental organizations, Tosin’s passion for caring, especially for women and children, has given her the opportunities to serve and empower women across various sectors.
Tosin Matthew-Akinsiku is a member of Global Harvest Church, happily married to a supportive and loving Damilare Matthew-Akinsiku. She is a dedicated wife and a passionate mother of three celebrity children – Tumi, Simi and Nimi.
