Dr. Nimi Stephanie Ekere is a Consultant Family Physician, Adolescent Health Enthusiast, and Global Child Advocate with a powerful mission to protect, heal, and empower the next generation.
She heads the Adolescent Medicine Clinic of the Family Medicine Department, LASUTH and is the founder of Smile and Shine Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to safeguarding children, restoring broken childhoods, and equipping families for holistic wellbeing. Through this platform, she has inspired and supported countless children, parents, and caregivers — especially in the area of child sexual abuse prevention and intervention, with strong emphasis on child protection, mental health, and family restoration. The foundation has also held multiple rural outreaches, reaching underserved and hard-to-reach children and adolescents with care, education, and advocacy — often distributing her books to schools and communities as part of these programs.
Dr. Nimi is the author of five transformative books, four of which address urgent issues around child protection and are actively used in schools and ministries across Nigeria. Her latest work, Navigating Adolescence, helps young people find their voice, identity, and direction in a world filled with pressure and distraction.
She is the visionary behind the STRIVE Conference, a national adolescent empowerment initiative that has shaped the future of thousands of Nigerian children and adolescents and their parents through life-changing conversations on leadership, mental health, and purposeful living.
