Babafunke Fagbemi B. Pharm, MCA, MBA

Born to Engr and Mrs E.S.A Oluyemi on 21st of May, 1969 from Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, Babafunke Fagbemi trained as a pharmacist, and has had over 27 years of an illustrious career, developing, implementing and managing strategic health communication initiatives in various thematic areas of integrated health and social development in Nigeria and Africa.

Up till 2003, she served as the Program Director, Staywell Foundation. She has supported key health and development projects in Nigeria and Africa. She has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool and Masters of Communication Arts from the University of Ibadan.

She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Centre for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI), Abuja leading on the provision of technical support for strategic communications to projects, organizations and government.   As the pioneer ED, her transformational and visionary leadership skills have been an asset resulting in the steady growth of CCSI from a start up to a premium Social Behaviour Change organization.

She is globally acclaimed as one of the leading lights in Africa on Social and Behaviour Change and through her resilience and tangible passion for development and learning, she has dedicated much of the past 18 years in building the next generation of health communicators.

Babafunke is the convener of the prestigious Nigerian edition of the annual Leadership in Strategic Communication Workshop, (a collaboration with the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Program), building the communication capacity of over 400 participants.

She loves children and is a CEM graduate.  She has been a Sunday school teacher for about 35 years. She is currently a worker in His Vineyard in Living Faith Church, Jahi, Abuja where she serves as the unit coordinator for a very vibrant Children’s Church. Her hobbies include photography, badminton and music. To the glory of God, her children are doing wonderfully well in their chosen fields of endeavour.
